Number of Greek Coronavirus Fatalities Rises to Ten


Four elderly people died from the covid-19 coronavirus in Greece on Friday.
An 85-year-old man from a village near Kozani, in northern Greece, as well as an 80-year old man from Athens were the first Greek citizens to have succumbed to the coronavirus infection on Friday, health authorities announced.
Later on the day, a third individual also died; however, there is still no information regarding the details of his or her case at present.
The fourth victim to die on Friday was a 93-year old woman from Patras.
The 85-year old man, from the village of Damaskinia, which had been under quarantine since earlier in the week, was transferred to Kozani’s hospital on Monday.
He was the seventh victim of the virus in the country.
The 80-year old from Athens was the eighth recorded victim of the pandemic. He died in the Pammakaristos Hospital in Athens.
In total, as of Friday evening, there were 495 confirmed coronavirus cases in Greece. Of these infections, 80 are of an undetermined origin.
In total, 90 patients are currently hospitalized, 20 of whom are in critical condition.
