A touching video has gone viral on Greek social media Saturday, showing residents of the village of Kastanies, in Evros, applauding the policemen who arrive to guard the border with Turkey.
People are seen coming out of their houses in the middle of the night to cheer on the riot police buses heading for the Kastanies border crossing to replace their colleagues on duty there.
Greek police and Army forces have continued to fight hordes of migrants trying to violate the border with Turkey and enter Greece, clearly aided by Turkish police, since the beginning of March when President Erdogan opened his country’s borders.
