The EuroPride 2020 event, which had been scheduled to take place in Thessaloniki, Greece in June will have to be postponed, it was announced on Tuesday.
The organizers have said that they still do not know when the event will take place, but they are continuing to follow the coronavirus pandemic developments closely.
The European Pride Organizers Association also expressed its disappointment but acknowledged that this was the right decision, given the circumstances this spring.
EuroPride is a European-wide event dedicated to LGBTI pride, hosted by a different European city each year. The host city is usually one with an established pride event or a significant LGBTI community.
Thessaloniki would have hosted the event for the first time in its history in 2020.
