Greece Records 78 New Coronavirus Cases, Death Toll Rises to 22

Greek health authorities announced on Wednesday that two more people had died from the COVID-19 coronavirus and 78 new cases were recorded throughout the country.
The total number of cases has risen to 821 and the death toll to 22.
Sotiris Tsiodras, the Health Ministry spokesperson for the Covid19 coronavirus outbreak, said that of the 134 people currently in the hospital, 53 are in intensive care; he then added that 36 patients in Greece have recovered.
Health authorities have conducted more than 10,000 tests across the nation, he said.
The spokesman added that the fatalities were comprised of 18 males and four females.
On Monday, Tsiodras said that according to mathematical models, Greek authorities believe that approximately eight to ten thousand people must have contracted the virus in Greece so far.
It is noted that Greece instituted a strict nationwide lockdown beginning on Monday, March 23.
