A Greek fighter pilot sent a message of unity to the nation during the scaled-down ceremonies to mark the anniversary of the War of Independence this year.
Flying his F-16 over Athens, he touched the hearts of all the Greek people who are under lockdown by saying:
“Greeks, all together united, let us continue to give meaning to the sacrifices of our ancestors. In the 199 years since the Revolution, Greece has had many glorious moments but also many difficulties. But she was always coming through stronger. This will also happen now. Chronia Polla Ellada!”
