Speaking with Greece’s Kathimerini newspaper on Saturday, Greece’s Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis expressed his belief that Greece will overcome the coronavirus crisis.
Mitsotakis admitted that 2020 will be a year of recession for the Greek economy, but stated that 2021 will make up for the losses of 2020.
“I know we will have a deep recession in 2020. But, provided that science gives us the answers we are waiting for, the recovery in 2021 will be greater than the 2020 recession,”  Mitsotakis was quoted as saying by Kathimerini.
Asked about how long the crisis of the COVID-19 coronavirus will last, Mitsotakis said that we cannot and should not currently say something, as the situation is still developing.
“I believe that we will start getting a clearer picture by the end of the month so that we can start gradually relaxing the restrictions by May, barring any dramatic developments. But this relaxation will be done step by step, and, of course, will not apply to the elderly and to people with underlying conditions,” the Greek Premier told the newspaper.
Greece has recorded so far 109 deaths from the pandemic.

In his Easter message, PM Mitsotakis urged the society to stay indoors and said that ”we will meet again when the danger is over.”
