Greece Celebrates Resurrection From Balconies, Gardens Amid Coronavirus Curfew

This past Holy Saturday night in Greece was one that hadn’t been seen since the end of World War II.
Millions of people watched the Liturgy of the Resurrection from their televisions instead of going to their neighborhood church, as most people traditionally do.
The country is in lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, and people gathered on balconies and in gardens to wish ”Christos Anesti!,” which is Greek for ”Christ is Risen!” to family members and neighbors.
Fireworks and bells created a beautiful and festive atmosphere, despite the very difficult situation we all find ourselves in at the moment.
Christos Anesti! Xronia Polla!
