Beaches across Greece have flooded with people again on Sunday, on the third day of the heatwave that had meteorologists perplexed over how early in the season temperatures reached 40 degrees Celsius (104 Fahrenheit) in some areas.
On Saturday, 515 organized beaches across Greece opened their doors, following very strict safety measures against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Overall, in organized beaches, people adhered to the safety regulations. In non-organized beaches, however, there were cases where people did not follow the social distancing rule.
It has been several years since Greeks rushed to the beaches so early in the season, as temperatures had rarely reached 30 degrees Celsius in May.
