Surreal Scene as Hellenic Navy Vessel Anchors Off Greek Beach Bar

A Hellenic Navy vessel made a surprise visit to a popular beach at Neos Panteleimonas, in Pieria Prefecture, northern Greece on Wednesday.
Employees of the beach bar were astonished, and perhaps a little concerned, to see the landing ship LESVOS L176 approaching the beach early in the morning, before swimmers and sunbathers arrived.
The whole incident became a bit surreal when the ship anchored right there, in front of the umbrellas and the sunbeds of the beach bar.

Speaking to daily newspaper Eleftheros Typos, the beach bar personnel said a military exercise was in progress in nearby Litohoro.
When they arrived at work on Wednesday morning, they said that they saw members of the Coast Guard monitoring the beach with the ship sailing nearby.
According to the newspaper, the ship remained anchored for less than one hour before it peacefully sailed away.
