Alex Antetokounmpo, the younger brother of Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, announced on Monday that he had recently signed a 3-year-deal with the Spanish team UCAM Murcia.
According to reports, the contract is considered financially viable for a player his age and also includes an NBA out clause for every summer, allowing him to join his brother in the United States.
UCAM Murcia is a professional basketball team based in Murcia, Spain, playing its home games at Palacio de Deportes. Murcia plays in the Liga ACB, which is one of the top professional basketball divisions in Spain and considered to be one of the best in the world.
The 17-year-old graduate of Dominican High School declined offers from the NCAA, deciding to turn pro in Europe. Antetokounmpo also plans on preparing for the NBA in the future, which he would be eligible to enter as soon as 2021.

Along with Alex Antetokounmpo, Marc and Pau Gasol, Ricky Rubio, Serge Ibaka and Jose Calderon are some of the other NBA players who started their stellar careers in the league.
UCAM Murcia is known for its great development system and its tendency of signing good prospects, an aspect that Alex Antetokounmpo cited as the main reason for wanting to play there.
Antetokounmpo grew up in Greece before moving to Milwaukee in 2013 during his brother Giannis’ rookie season with the Bucks.
