The National Public Health Organization reported that Greece has reached over 4,000 total cases of Covid-19, with 25 new patients having been discovered within the past 24 hours.
16 cases were detected at the country’s border gates, with officials following health and safety protocols by administering tests to those coming into the nation. No new deaths were reported by health authorities, leaving Greece’s total number of fatalities at 194.
The recent increase in infections has been a point of much concern with both health experts and the Greek government, with the country having recently issued a new mandate making it mandatory for both employees and customers to wear mask at supermarkets.

With the total number of Covid-19 cases reaching 4,007, Greece has experienced a daily change of only 0.6 percent, which is considerably lower when compared to most days.
Officials believe that the two main causes regarding recent noticeable spikes of the virus are the influx of international travelers as a result of the tourist season, as well as some regions in Greece being more lax in implementing health regulations than others.
27.6 percent (1,106) of cases are considered to be related to traveling from abroad, while 51.1 percent (2,048) are related to already known cases. The rest are under investigation.
As Greece plans on allowing more tourists from different countries to travel at the end of July, officials are closely monitoring how the Covid-19 virus will continue to spread there.
