Greece's Death Toll from Coronavirus Reaches 200

Greece’s coronavirus death toll reached 200 on Wednesday with the additional deaths of a 75-year-old woman from Thessaloniki, another elderly man who passed away in the same hospital and an 85-year-old man who succumbed with the disease at Vostanio Hospital in the Lesvos Island capital of Mytilene.
Also as of Wednesday, a total of 32 new cases of the coronavirus were detected across the country, with nine of those picked up during routine tests at the country’s border gates.
Greece’s National Organization for Public Health (EODY) had announced on Tuesday that there had been a total of 4,048 cases of the coronavirus in the country, counting all those who had recovered. Wednesday’s statistics raised that overall total to 4,080.
The median age of all Greek citizens who had died with the virus was 76 years and 96 percent of these individuals suffered from an underlying disease and/or were seventy years of age or older.
The ratio of males to females in Greek coronavirus cases favors males, at 54.5%.
More than one thousand, or 1128 (27.7%) positive coronavirus cases are believed to be related to travel abroad; 2066, or (50.7%) have been connected by the EODY to an already known case via contact tracing.
Ten patients, with an average age of 58 years, are currently being treated by intubation in ICU units throughout the country. Only twenty percent of these patients are women; eighty percent of these ten individuals already suffer from an underlying disease or are aged 70 years and above.
The EODY stated in their report that a total of 124 patients have now been discharged from ICU units across the country after having suffered from Covid-19.
