Greek Sailor Dead in Fire on Cargo Ship in the Arabian Sea

A 55-year old Greek sailor died and another member of the crew was injured during a fire on a Greek-flagged cargo ship on Wednesday in the Arabian Sea.
The fire broke out on the vessel “Faneromeni”, which was heading from the United Arab Emirates to North Africa. It carries a crew of 18 people, five of whom are Greek citizens.
According to the Greek Shipping Ministry, the fire broke out at around 04:00 Greek time and so far there is no information regarding injuries to other members of the crew or the extent of the damage.
