Most Mykonos residents and tourists adhered to the stricter measures imposed by the Greek authorities to combat the spread of coronavirus which came into effect on Friday.
Mykonoslive.tv reports that wearing a face mask, which is now compulsory — both indoors and outdoors — is becoming the new norm. However, the video footage shows that some are not using the precaution properly — and some others are not using it at all.
The stricter measures, which include a ban on all religious processions, open-air markets and even parties on Mykonos will be in effect until 6 AM Monday, August 31.
As of Friday, and for the next ten days, no more than nine people are allowed to gather together in one place and there is a limit of only four people dining together at a restaurant unless they are members of the same immediate family. In that case, up to six members may sit and dine together.
These measures are in addition to the continuing curfew placed on bars, which must close their doors between midnight and 7 AM.
The same restrictions apply to the region of Halkidiki in northern Greece.
