The annual Art Athina Fair will be virtual this year due to the coronavirus pandemic and will open its web portals on October 15 via www.aavirtual.gr.
The Art Athina Virtual platform is under the auspices of the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou and the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
Art Athina is one of the oldest art fairs in Europe and this year will be different. Art lovers will have the opportunity to “browse” for free from their computer, tablet, or smartphone in more than 55 galleries from Greece and abroad and get to know the artists and their works without any time limit, as Art Athina Virtual will be accessible on a 24-hour basis – with different lighting in the morning and evening – seven days a week until the end of October.
However, along with the online visits, there will be a week of activities for Greek art galleries that will take place from October 13 to October 20. For eight days, galleries will be exhibiting in their natural spaces the artworks that will present online.
The particular event is organised by the Panhellenic Association of Art Galleries and the team of Art Athina with artistic director Stamatia Dimitrakopoulos.
