Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned on Wednesday that Turkey will give Greece the “answer it deserves” over the eastern Mediterranean dispute, according to an AFP report.
Speaking to the ruling party’s lawmakers he also said that the ghost town of Varosha under Turkish military control in Cyprus belongs to Turks. He called on the Turkish Cypriots to protect their territory.

Earlier Wednesday, Turkish Energy Minister Fatih Donmez said the Oruc Reis seismic survey ship has reached the location in the eastern Mediterranean where it will operate and was beginning to take readings.
According to a report from the Athens Macedonia News Agency (AMNA) the Oruc Reis has turned off its geopositioning system for the last 24 hours.
The Turkish vessel set sail on Monday from Turkey and the last signal it emitted was from an area within the boundaries of the Greek continental shelf, 35 nautical miles south of the island of Kastellorizo.
According to sources, Hellenic Navy vessels are patrolling the wider region.
