Filming for a new Hollywood movie has already begun on the breathtaking island of Spetses.
The film, titled “The Lost Daughter,” features stars Olivia Coleman and Dakota Johnson.

Spetses, located in the Saronic Gulf, is known for its history and town, in which taxis are the only motor vehicles allowed on the streets, and beautiful beaches. The island is known as an upscale holiday destination for Greeks and tourists alike.
The Greek island will be transformed into an Italian village for the movie, which is based on a book of the same name by best-selling author Elena Ferrante.
In the book, a woman, played by Coleman, takes a trip to a seaside Italian village that slowly devolves as she reflects deeply on her own life.

Ferrante is known for her critically acclaimed Neapolitan Novels, which have sold over 10 billion copies. They chronicle the lives of two women from the same rough Neapolitan neighborhood from childhood to middle-age.
Actress Maggie Gyllenhaal is making her directorial debut on the film, set to be released in 2021.
