Greece’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Sunday issued a notam on the rules applying to all foreign and domestic flights for the period between November 9-30, during which the country will be under a nationwide lockdown to restrict the spread of Covid-19.
Starting at 6:00 on November 9, domestic flights and commercial and general/business aviation to all airports in the nation will be permitted only for essential travel, including for reasons of health, professional/business trips, family reasons (reunification of families) and a return to one’s permanent place of residence.
Exempted from the restrictions are Hellenic national healthcare system flights, state flights, medical relief flights, humanitarian flights, emergency flights, military flights, fire-fighting flights, Frontex flights, technical landings where passengers do not disembark, ferry flights and cargo flights.
For international flights, starting on November 10 at 6:00 in the morning, the obligation to fill in a Passenger Locator Form at the website https://travel.gov.gr is extended to passengers departing from Greek airports to go abroad, as well those coming from abroad to Greece.
In addition, from 6:00 in the morning on November 11, passengers arriving on flights from abroad must be able to demonstrate that they have had a PCR test that is negative for Covid-19 taken up to 72 hours before their arrival in Greece.
These restrictions will all apply until November 30 at midnight.
