Brussels-born Sebastien Nagy was named Aerial Photographer of the Year 2020 after submitting a variety of beautiful photographs to the competition. Nagy impressed the judges in the Architecture category with a stunning shot of Santorini from above.
Photographers from around the world submitted breathtaking photographs showing the world from above, with photos taken with the use of drones, helicopters, airplanes, and other flying or floating objects.
Ultimately receiving the title of Aerial Photographer of the Year, Nagy also won individual awards for six of his photographs that were judged in the competition.

His work “Abstract Greece” displays the beauty of the spectacular Greek island of Santorini, one of the world’s most sought-after tourist destinations. Its iconic white-washed architecture, built along the steep slopes of the mountainous island, form an abstract pattern from above, dotted with sunbathing tourists.
Although it came as a surprise, Nagy said that he felt “a real joy and pride” when he was announced as the Aerial Photographer of the Year.
Reflecting on his win, Nagy stated, “to be named first in a contest where the theme is what (I) love most, (my) passion, is incredible and very satisfying.”
