Coronavirus: 103 Deaths in Greece, 540 Patients Intubated, 1,498 New Infections

Greece’s National Public Health Organization (EODY) on Sunday announced 1,498 new Covid-19 infections, 103 deaths, and a record number of 540 patients in intubation.
Of the 1,498 new cases, 22 were detected after checks at the country’s gateways. The total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic is 91,619, of which 53.4 percent ​​are men.
Of the total number of infections, 4,810 (5.3 percent) are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 23,403 (25.5 percent) are related to an already known case.
Currently, the number of intubated patients reached 540. Their median age is 65 years. Of the 540, 150 (27.8 percent) are women and the rest are men. The vast majority of intubated patients (81.9 percent) have an underlying disease or are aged 70 years and older.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 470 patients have been discharged from ICUs in Greece.
The total number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic has reached 1,630, with 647 (39.7 percent) women and the rest men. The median age of the deceased was 80 years, and 97 percent of them had some underlying disease and/or were 70 years old and over.
