The 23rd Olympia International Film Festival for Children and Young People will be held online this year, featuring 90 films dealing with important issues for children and the whole family.
The festival will take place November 28-December 5 and since the Covid-19 pandemic does not allow for the festival to be a cinematic experience, families and young people will enjoy it much the same in the comfort of their home.
A total of 90 films from 47 countries will compete, including full features, short films, animation, and documentaries. The competition categories are Feature Fiction (14), Short Fiction (24), Short Animation (25), and Documentary / Kids & Docs feature, medium and short (27).
The competition program was selected by the artistic director of the Olympia Festival, Dimitris Spyrou.
All films are about the joy of life, despite the hardships and unpleasant events and tragedies. They are about family, friendship, love, nature, music, the internet, but also about immigration, poverty, delinquency, loss, the struggle for survival, religious fanaticism, and, of course, the coronavirus pandemic.
