Actor Nasos Papargyropoulos paired with professional singer Josephine won the popular singing Greek talent show ‘Just the Two of Us’ in Athens on Saturday.
The duet majestically performed ‘The Phantom of the Opera’, a 1986 musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber, and won the applause of the presenter, Nikos Koklonis and all panelists.
The panel jury consisted of singer Despina Vandi, presenter Maria Bakodimou, director and stage producer Stamatis Fasoulis and actress Vicky Stavropoulou.
Three singing duets were competing in the final: Actor Katerina Zarifi with professional singer Anastasios Rammos and basketball player Zoi Dimitrakou with Lefteris Pantazis. Papargyropoulos and Josephine were declared winners.
Born and raised in Athens, Papargyropoulos completed the Drama School of the National Theater and then moved to the US, first in New York and later in Los Angeles, where he stayed for four years and attended acting, directing and film classes at UCLA.
A highlight of the show airing on Open TV was the live performance of the the two Greek pop superstars Anna Vissi and Despina Vandi.
It was the first time that the two top-performing female artists have appeared together setting fire to the stage, by performing each other’s songs.
Just the Two of Us is based on the original Britain concept Just the Two of Us. The show aired on Mega Channel on 2010 and 2014 and from 2020 is airing on Open TV .
In every circle branded by the artistic, athletic or even television scene, they duet with a renowned professional singer and prepare a live song every week. The duets are rated by the jury from 1 to 10 for their performance, while still receiving positive votes from the television audience throughout the episode. Each week, the lowest-rated couple leaves the game.
