Changes to Lockdown Measures

On Tuesday, in his last press conference regarding Covid-19 for the year 2020, Greek Minister for Civil Protection Nikos Chardalias announced changes to strict lockdown measures in certain areas of Greece.
The strict lockdown measures currently in place have been extended to January 6 in Elefsina, Aspropygos, Eordaea, Voio, and Kozani, where the viral load has remained high despite the draconian measures.
Similar lockdowns in Servia, Velventos, and Mandra-Eidyllia are no longer in place, Chardalias announced Tuesday.
The strict measures include a curfew from from 6 PM until 5 AM and the closure of all non-essential businesses and farmers markets.
All religious services, apart from funerals, which are limited to ten guests, are on hold in regions under the strict lockdown.
In order to acquire a full picture of the epidemiological status of the impacted areas, Chardalias announced that the state will continue to conduct mass testing and extensive contact tracing in order to best curb the spread of Covid-19 in Greece.
