A total of 445 new coronavirus cases were diagnosed in Greece on Sunday.
This is a significant decrease compared to the 800 cases that had been recorded on Saturday, according to Greece’s Public Health Authority EODY.
Additionally, the total number of tests that the Greek authorities conducted in the last 24 hours was 19,708.

New Coronavirus Deaths

Tragically, more people died in the last 24 hour-period from the novel coronavirus.
36 people passed away in the country, which is four more than those that EODY recorded on Saturday.

Intubations

Currently, 353 patients are intubated in the country’s hospitals, suffering from the coronavirus.
Again, a large portion of the newly recorded cases has been diagnosed in Attica, and Thessaloniki, the two most populous regions of Greece.

Coronavirus Lockdown extended

On Friday, it was announced that Greece’s strict lockdown will be in effect for at least another week. Meanwhile, experts talking to Greek media outlets express their belief that the lockdown will be extended further.
The national lockdown, in place since early November, had already been extended to Monday, January 11 earlier last week.
