A moderate earthquake rocked the Mediterranean island nation of Cyprus on Thursday afternoon.

According to the Cypriot Department of Geological Survey, the earthquake measured 5.4 on the Richter scale.

The quake, felt across the entire island, delayed the Cypriot Parliament’s vote on the country’s budget.

The epicenter of the earthquake was 38 km (24 miles) southwest of the capital city of Nicosia, and just 7 km (4.3 miles) northwest of Larnaca, a city on the country’s southern coast. The earthquake was even felt in the northern part of the nearby country of Israel.

Although no damage or injuries have been reported, some people were evacuated from tall buildings in Nicosia.
